I don’t know about your home but the home I currently rent is cold draughty and expensive to heat. We spend a small fortune on heating during the winter (mainly just to have the main living area warm and the rest of the house frigid!!!) and during the summer the air-conditioning is constantly on as well! The ironic thing is-this house is under 10 years old! It has new insulation, is double glazed, faces North. Why then is it so cold??? How can we improve the overall effectiveness of the insulation so that we can have a constant temperature throughout the year regardless of what the weather is doing outside?
Here at Mt Grey Building we strive to bring the latest technology and innovative ideas to the industry. We believe in using the best possible materials and practices to create your ‘forever’ home. That is why we have partnered with the ‘Super Home Movement’ and Passive House design which is essentially building to a much higher standard than traditional building practices that most builders currently use in New Zealand. The New Zealand Building Code is a minimum standard. We do our best to exceed it!
With the use of effective design measures, higher quality double glazing & PVC frame windows, airtight homes, controlled mechanical air flow, and many other design features, you can have a home that stays at a constant 18-22 degrees ALL year round.
